Private Locating Services

Private Locators

Dig Safe only provides notification services for excavation projects and does not mark underground utilities.

To have underground lines identified and located, you must contact a Dig Safe for member utilities to respond, and notify non-members directly.  Dig Safe member utilities only mark lines they own or maintain.

For privately owned facilities, you must hire a private locating service directly, or use your own locating equipment.

We provide this list of private locating companies as a resource. These companies are independent entities and are not affiliated with Dig Safe as agents, employees, or contractors.  Dig Safe does not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or the quality of any services offered by these companies.  These locating companies are listed alphabetically, and not in order of preference or recommendation.

You may also search the internet using keywords “Underground Utility Locating” to find locating companies.  Please note that no licensing or regulatory oversight currently exists for private locating services.

We update this list as we become aware of additional private locators, so please check back regularly.
